ZOOM, Anywhere — General Assembly, Ethnic Studies Council at the University of California | Solidarity Against Academic Apartheid
Solidarity Against Educational Apartheid
The violence of U.S. imperialism has boomeranged back into our schools! U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza and ICE terrorism have fostered educational apartheid in California, creating a separate, unequal, and discriminatory system of public education. Join the Ethnic Studies Council at the University of California for a General Assembly with Liz Jackson of K-12 Legal Defense, and Abraham who organizes with Immigrant Justice in Action Coalition (IJAC). We will discuss two critical fights for California’s students: (1) a legal case in response to the Brandeis Center’s lawfare efforts to dictate California’s ethnic studies curriculum by suppressing and erasing Palestinian history and people from the K-12 classroom, and (2) Governor Newsom’s craven veto of the Opportunity 4 All bill, which would have extended job opportunities to undocumented college students. Learn what’s at stake, what comes next, and how to get involved.
